About Sarah Noble-Jones

Hello, I’m Sarah and I’m a BACP accredited and registered counsellor with 20+ years’ experience working with clients.

Sometimes making the decision to come for counselling can seem the biggest hurdle; it may feel daunting and there’s a lot of us to choose from. It’s important to find someone who feels like a good fit and I offer a reduced fee for an initial appointment so that you can see how I work and whether you like the idea of working with me.

How I work

People seek counselling for a variety of reasons:

  • experiencing difficulties in relationships
  • struggling with feelings of inner conflict, depression or anxiety
  • bereavement, loss
  • need to address and resolve specific problems
  • decision-making
  • coping with crisis
  • trauma
  • life changes, menopause
  • ageing, mortality
  • counselling as a means of personal development, increasing awareness and insight towards living a more fulfilling life.

Whatever the reason you’re considering counselling, I offer a relationship with someone who will listen without judgement or agenda and really get alongside you with whatever it is you want to bring, and together we can look at what concerns you. My role is not to give advice or tell you what to do, but rather work with you collaboratively, at your own pace, in a confidential and safe environment.

I believe that when we are accepted and feel understood, even when it seems hard to accept and understand ourselves, we begin to know ourselves with more clarity and compassion. Through experiencing ourselves differently, and relating differently in a helpful, supportive and genuine relationship, we come to better understand what it is we need to begin living in a way that is more satisfying and resourceful.

I’m a fully qualified, experienced counsellor trained at The Metanoia Institute (PC Dip Couns 2004), a BACP accredited course in person-centred counselling. I work in private practice, offering one to one counselling to men and women, for either short term, longer/open ended periods or time limited.

I worked for some years with Victim Support in Lambeth, Threshold Women’s Counselling and Varndean Counselling Service, gaining experience working with women from diverse backgrounds who had experienced trauma. I have worked in private practice for more than 12 years and work as a volunteer counsellor in a hospice setting.

For further information and fees please take a look at my website: www.hovecounselling.co.uk

I undertake regular Continued Professional Development (CPD) and have taken additional training in working with bereavement and trauma.

I abide by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework for The Counselling Professions.
