COVID-19 UPDATE: I’m currently offering therapy exclusively through Skype, Zoom, and by phone, depending on your preference. While I plan to be back in the office to see people face-to-face when it is safe to do so, I am also excited to see you online!
It can be exceptionally tough to start looking for therapy, and I'm proud of you for doing so today.
My name is Kathryn Lees and I'm a person-centred psychotherapist working in Hartlepool, County Durham. That means that my style of counselling is to keep your wants and needs at the centre of all of our sessions together - we will work as a team, and work together to get you where you want to be in life. If you are looking for somewhere to create meaning in your life, you are feeling lost or hopeless, or you are seeking emotional support, please get in touch.
As both a practicing therapist and as someone who has healed and grown in therapy myself, I know how it feels to be in both chairs in the therapy office. I have experience of many of life's issues and have helped my clients through many more and, as such, I am ready to tackle any issues with you.
I achieved a BSc in Psychology in 2011, passing with a 2:1, and I passed my MSc in Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy in 2018.
I have worked in various mental health jobs, in the NHS and in private services, since 2007. As a psychotherapist I have volunteered hundreds of hours since 2011 with various counselling charities, including the National Self-Harm Network, Derby Counselling Centre, Derby Women's Centre, and Hull and East Riding Survivors.
I am BACP and UKCP registered, and working towards full UKCP accreditation. I follow their ethical guidelines as a practitioner.
