About Nomi Counselling
My name is Zoe and I offer affordable person-centred counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, EAP companies and health and higher education services. I am a fully qualified and insured professional person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (bacp.co.uk). I am based in Weymouth working in Dorset and the South Coast and also hold a current enhanced DBS certificate.
I offer face to face sessions at my Weymouth therapy room and also offer telephone and online Skype counselling and psychotherapy sessions for clients who prefer to access sessions from home or whom may travel extensively due to work commitments and wish to have consistent therapy. I have a flexible approach to my work including within my therapeutic approach (from time to time may use offer therapeutic knowledge that may be useful in the sessions) and I use information in a psycho-educational way if appropriate and can adapt work for short or long-term with clients. I also offer ‘walk and talk’ therapy for those who find it difficult to be seated in a therapy room, this is agreed on a case by case basis and the cost and impact on therapy is discussed.
I have previously worked as a counsellor in the NHS, a national children’s charity and within drug and alcohol services and have experience working with a wide range of clients from a variety of backgrounds. I have a particular interest and experience in work-related stress, addiction, anxiety and trauma. I have completed training with a Dorset charity specialising in working with adult survivors of childhood abuse.
My counselling and work in further and higher education has given me experience working with people who are experiencing challenging personal circumstances, anxiety, medical or mental health issues or who experience ASD, autism, Asperger’s, learning difficulties or disabilities. I am able to adapt my work to suit individual needs and can work with clients who are D/deaf or hearing impaired. I promote inclusivity and welcome all communities including clients of any sexual orientation.
