About Talbot Counselling & CBT

Joanne Henshall MBACP Reg.

I offer a safe, confidential environment to help you overcome the difficulties you are experiencing. Are you holding on to something painful, that you need to be able to offload and explore in a safe nonjudgmental space? Perhaps your problems are affecting your relationships or work life. Everybody experiences things differently, and together we can come up with a treatment plan that will fit just for you and help you to progress and change the things you wish to. I am able to provide a range of different approaches, specialising in CBT and person centred therapy. Perhaps you are suffering from Depression or an anxiety problem such as social anxiety or OCD, in which case I can offer understanding alongside evidence based tools and techniques you can use to overcome your difficulties once and for all.

My practice extends from Branksome Park to Christchurch where you will receive a warm welcome, within pleasant and comfortable surroundings. I understand for some people making contact or asking for help can take a great deal of courage. Talking to a stranger about deeply sensitive, personal experiences and feelings can seem daunting.

The first introductory session is free and a chance for you to assess if I am the right person for you. It also gives an opportunity for me to understand what you are looking for and to see if I feel what I can offer will suit you, before we make an agreement to work together.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost £40.00.

Working with the adult survivors of childhood abuse and trauma are  specialisms and i volunteer  across two charity counselling organisations that help survivors of childhood abuse, sexual and domestic violence. I have had extensive training within the spectrum of Trauma  and regularly attend CPD workshops. My therapeutic  work is also focused on helping addicts and the carers of addict’s cope with the challenges they (as carers), face.

Probably the most important factor in choosing a counsellor is to see someone you feel comfortable with, and can trust. If you would like to meet with me for an initial session, or have any question, please contact me.
