About Steven Smyth-Bonfield Integrative Counsellor MBACP
When we have difficult feelings, when bad things have happened, when we are unsure, ill at ease or troubled within ourselves, counselling can be the help we need. Counselling helped me when I doubted anything could. Now I do the work myself.
I qualified as an Integrative counsellor in 2009 and am committed to an approach that places my clients and their needs first. It is my job to create an environment of empathy, non-judgement and honesty in which my clients and I can look at their difficulties in a place that is safe enough to do so. My Integrative training means I have a broad range of theoretical perspectives and practical counselling skills that I can offer my clients in order to tailor the work as closely as possible to their needs.
I worked in three schools and two universities before starting my private practice, helping clients with issues including bereavement, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, sexual or physical abuse and relationship problems.
I am happy to support older people and people with mobility issues, if you can’t come to me I will come to you.
It is my belief that there are times when all of us would benefit from the kind of support and reflection that is only available in the counselling room.
