About Naomi Reeves Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist working in private practice from a room in the lovely Dartington Hall Estate. I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I draw from a number of different styles of counselling with the aim of tailoring the sessions to each client’s specific needs and hopes.

I aim to create a warm, trusting and collaborative relationship with my clients in which work can be planned and paced to each clients requirements, working as fast or as slowly as needed.

My core training was in Gestalt Counselling, which is a methodology that allows a flexible and creative approach, incorporating artwork, visualisations, work outside in nature and of course talking.

I also have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which is a systematic, focused and evidence based therapy, offering a structured approach that is very useful for people suffering from anxiety, phobias and generalised anxiety disorder.

As well as private practice I also work for Young Devon offering counselling to young people aged 13 to 23. This age group has presented me with new challenges, some of the presenting issues for this age group include self-harm, addictions and family issues as well as the general struggles of growing up and learning about the world.

I also have experience and training of working with victims of domestic abuse including sexual abuse, emotional abuse and physical abuse. In working with this client group I have learnt a lot about working with boundaries within relationships of all kinds, relationship issues in a broader sense, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, separation and divorce. I often felt privileged and moved to be a part of the growth and strengthening that occurred through the counselling work with theses clients.

Having completed the Cruse training in bereavement care I am comfortable working with grief, bereavement and loss in a broader sense.

Whilst training I worked at a GP’s surgery with clients experiencing a wide variety of difficulties including, anxiety, depression, health issues, disability, relationship issues, stress, postnatal depression, abortion, mental health, post traumatic stress disorder and terminal illness.

I offer individual counselling, couples counselling and counselling for young people both individually and with parents/carers present.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their Ethical Framework.

Sessions are 1 hour and can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on the client’s requirements. I charge £45 per session and offer a concessionary rate of £25 per session.
I offer the first consultation session free of charge.
