About Aileen Ross – Mindful Moments

Aileen Ross is a a Senior Accredited Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Trainer with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) who has 17 years’ experience of working with individual clients and couples from all walks of life.

She is also a highly qualified UK Registered Independent Counsellor and Psychotherapist (UKRCP) and on their national register for approved independent therapists, having worked with clients in the NHS, in education, through public and private organisations, and taking private client referrals alongside those from many different agencies, including health care insurance schemes.

Aileen is an integrative therapist with a person-centred approach to working with people, which means she believes YOU have the resources within yourself to identify changes you need to make while also possessing the inner strength, energy and abilities to do so. However, she also knows how people usually need considerable encouragement and motivation to actually believe this . . .

So to help you make permanent changes in your life, Aileen sees herself as a Facilitator of your change, working alongside you, being curious with you about yourself, and helping you to ask and answer the core questions to get to the heart of what may be causing your difficulties and concern at this time.

She offers you a non-judgemental, safe, and confidential space to explore these feelings and issues as you work out what changes you want to make in your life and future behaviour. In doing so, she draws on a variety of therapeutic theories and skills to work uniquely with each client or couple.

These include Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy and Stress Reduction ( MBCT / MBSR ), alongside Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic therapeutic skills.

Clients say that whatever their issues, they find Aileen to have an empathic understanding of where they are in their lives and intuitively know how to facilitate their healing, change and growth.

Increasingly Aileen uses Mindfulness as part of her integrative therapeutic approach, particularly with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, pain or illness. Many clients report significant positive changes in their behaviour, anxiety and stress levels as a result of engaging with these Mindfulness practices.

Aileen has trained with Manchester-based Breathworks over the past 3 years, a Manchester-based organisation which trains mindfulness trainer practitioners across Britain and Ireland and many other countries.
