We all want to lead happy, fulfilled lives but at times the problems we face leave us sad, stuck or confused. I believe that within each of us lies the ability to overcome many of these issues and that taking time to reflect upon difficult situations and developing the skills to confront and overcome them enables us to plan a way forward with confidence.
As a qualified counsellor, working privately and within a medical practice, I see my role as providing guidance for clients as they go through this process. I work in an integrative manner blending various therapies (including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and humanistic) to create an approach personalised to each client which targets such areas as depression, anxiety, bereavement, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) relationship difficulties, anger management, and low self-esteem. I am also experienced in working with students taking Counselling courses, adults with Asperger\'s Syndrome and with parents of children with Asperger\'s. As an ex-headteacher I have a wide understanding of the issues facing those working in the field of education.
I offer one-to-one counselling within a tranquil, private setting and adhere strictly to the professional, confidential and ethical guidelines of British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) of which I am a member.
