About Confidential counselling in Bristol
Sometimes when we are in crisis or experiencing painful or difficult circumstances we may need someone other than a friend or relative to talk through a particular problem. Even though friends or family try to be loving and supportive we often find we need more focused help.
I can offer a safe and confidential space where you can explore your concerns and freely voice thoughts and feelings regarding your personal difficulties. Connecting with your inner resources afresh, you may find new perspectives and a way forward.
I am a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Counselling validated by the University of Gloucestershire and a post-qualifying Diploma in Counselling Children and Adolescents.
I hold a Certificate of Counselling Proficiency and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and CCYP (Counselling Children and Young People).
I regularly attend CPD courses, receive monthly supervision for both my voluntary and private client work and I am fully insured for private practice.
I have experience of working with a wide range of clients from adolescence to older adulthood with problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement and loss, spiritual issues, the impact of trauma or abuse, low self-esteem, self-harm, relationship difficulties and marital breakdown.
I have been counselling adults and young people in private practice since 2015 and started volunteer counselling with adults in a large Bristol counselling agency since January 2013. I have been the school counsellor at a Bristol post 16 centre since June 2015.
I am currently part of the training team at this agency delivering training at Introductory level and facilitating skills workshops.
