People seek counselling or psychotherapy for various reasons. You might be experiencing relationship issues, generalised anxiety, depression, bereavement, stress, trauma, or addictions; or you just know that something is not quite right. Whatever your reason is, it is important to seek help. You don’t need to try to cope alone - I can help you move through and beyond the pain or challenges of your situation. I will listen deeply, ask meaningful questions, help make sense of what you are going through, support your process in making positive changes in your life, and share both tears and laughter along the way - no matter what the pain, disappointment, confusion or anger you may experience. My work is interactive and geared to meet your individual needs.
Learn to make meaningful connections between thoughts, feelings and actions; find out how to break only those chains between past and present that hold you back, and trust yourself to move in the direction you want. New understandings and possibilities will help point the way. Breakthroughs will create the path.
My name is Eeva, and I am a qualified counsellor and a nurse. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My approach to counselling is humanistic integrative. What this means is that I use various therapeutic models and methods in my therapeutic work in order to provide the best possible support for you. I’m also a wife, a dog-owner, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a god-mother, a friend, a foreigner, a season-ticket holder, a keen photographer, and a Big Bang Theory fan. But most of all, I am a human being – just like you.
I focus a lot on building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. My non-judgemental and honest approach to counselling will allow you to feel safe, which enable and empower you to explore the matters on your therapeutic journey. How you experience life is important to me; I want to know who you are, and what life is like for you.
