I am an experienced Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Accred). For my short term work I draw on a cognitive behavioural approach (CBT) whilst still maintaining some psychodynamic thinking . For longer term work - as my model is integrative - I tailor my work for my clients needs but my primary approach is Psychodynamic.
There are many reasons why someone may choose to seek counselling, but the fact that you are reading this means that you have already taken an important first step towards getting the help or support that you need.
I offer confidential and non judgmental counselling in which my clients can talk freely and openly giving a safe place to explore and work through, thoughts, feelings, behaviours and situations which maybe affecting them. I have over fourteen years of experience working within a counselling environment and over twenty years experience in working with children, young people and adults in many different settings, including schools. As a counsellor I have experience in working with charities, agencies, schools and private practice.
In addition to running my private practice I also work in schools offering counselling to students and staff as well as running group sessions. I offer an initial session at a reduced rate where we can discuss your individual needs, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and explore together the best way forward for you. I also offer a limited number of weekend and evening appointments and some concessions.
I am a qualified and experienced practitioner who is covered by professional indemnity insurance and who always works according to the ethical framework and guidelines set out by the BACP. In accordance with best practice, I regularly attend professional training courses and workshops as an ongoing commitment to my development and training as a therapist.
