Hello I am Beverley, welcome to my profile.
With over 10 years experience as a therapist have worked with adults and children of all ages. I understand how important it is for people to feel comfortable enough to talk through difficult issues with a counsellor and I aim to help them feel as safe as possible.
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor (Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural, Solution Focused) offering a safe, confidential, professional service to all individuals. The room I work in from home is a therapeutic and private space for clients to explore their personal experiences. I believe my practice is personal, and unique taking into account the needs of all individuals, and through agreement tailor a journey to suit and empower recovery.
I have a diploma in therapeutic counselling and am a member of the BACP. I also hold Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive behavioural Psychotherapy at the University of Derby.
I have trained and worked as a counsellor in many settings, including the NHS, occupational therapy, drug and alcohol advice, bereavement and two years working with individuals who are suffering mild to moderate mental health issues - including phobias.
I have worked with a diverse range of issues, including Depression, Anxiety, Addictions, Trauma, Bereavement and Major Life Changing Adjustments (loss, divorce and separation, physical injury, relationship issues, workplace issues, infertility and miscarriage, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, termination, abortion, miscarriage, and self-harm).
My Professional Development is an on going vocation with workshops, training and personal development groups being a continuing process. I also attend Personal Development Workshops to enable I work safely
