About Louise Samme – counselling and psychotherapy

People seek therapy for many reasons.
You may be feeling lost or stuck, in need of additional support during a difficult time, anxious, overwhelmed or dissatisfied with life.
You may want to look at repeated patterns or events, or journey in self-discovery.

Therapy can offer a space to explore these issues and feelings. To help you start to find the answers you are seeking.

I offer a safe, confidential, warm and respectful space where we can build the trust between us and work together for a deeper understanding of the issues you bring and look at changes you may want to make.

My background was originally as a registered mental health nurse (since 1998).
I have used counselling skills as part of my work as a nurse, as well as implementing the therapy skills I have studied with clients in forensic, acute and community environments.

I have experience in the following areas:
depression
anxiety
ante and post natal mental health
stress
addictions
bereavement
trauma
low self esteem
self harm
personality disorder
relationship issues

I am presently continuing advanced clinical training in psychotherapy, working towards an MSc and Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) qualifications.

I use a client-centred and holistic approach with all the people I interact with; ensuring I am respectful, positive and consistent in my approach.
I prioritise the building of trust and the therapeutic relationship, and work collaboratively and relationally with the client.

I work individualistically with clients, and reflect on the uniqueness of each person and their process.

My psychotherapy training is specifically in transactional analysis from the humanistic school of therapies. It has a wide range of theories and practices that can be adapted to individual need.
Its approach is empathic and non-judgmental.

I belong to the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA) and the UK Association for Psychotherapist (UKCP) and follow their ethical and professional codes of conduct.
