The Authentic Path: counselling with Joel
Counsellor in Dacorum, Hertfordshire
I’m Joel, an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist offering a down‑to‑earth, relational approach to therapy. I work through real, honest conversations — no clinical pretense, no jargon, no judgement.
Experiencing the depth and impact of my own therapy through difficult times is what led me to commit to this profession. I know what it’s like to sit in the client’s chair, and that shapes the way I work: human first, therapist second.
Grounded in humanistic, Gestalt, and person‑centred principles, I offer an active, collaborative space where you can explore who you are beneath the expectations, pressures, and “borrowed scripts” you’ve picked up along the way. My style is warm, direct, and honest — a place where you can drop the mask, slow down, and reconnect with your own voice.
I hold a Professional Diploma in Counselling from The Albany Centre and a degree in Business Psychology, and I bring over a decade of leadership experience across the charity and business sectors. This background gives me deep insight into stress, identity, burnout, anxiety, and major life transitions, both personally and organisationally.
I practise under the NCPS ethical framework, meeting clients with presence, clarity, and compassion. My aim is to offer a safe, authentic environment where real change can happen — at your pace, in your way. To explore more, contact: hello@theauthenticpath.uk”
