I have been working with people experiencing difficulty in their lives for over 15 years, and have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist for 7 years. That experience has taught me that clients need to feel safe and comfortable before they can begin to talk about what is troubling them. I work at the pace set by the client, to agreed goals and outcomes.
The model I use is Transactional Analysis. Clients tell me that they find this easy to understand, as it provides a framework to understand their situation and relationships. I believe that we all decide things about ourselves, other people and the world at quite a young age, and it is helpful to bring these decisions into our awareness to see if they are helpful to us, or not.
My practice is broad-ranging and varied: I welcome people of all cultures and backgrounds.
I have an MA in psychotherapy, I am UKCP registered and I am a fully qualified Certified Transactional Analyst and couples therapist. I am also qualified and experienced in supervising the work of other counsellors and psychotherapists. I also provide training and consultancy to organisations.
