Deciding to have therapy is an important and courageous decision. My role is to support you by providing you with a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space to find a way forward.
This space is built on integrity and trust. Your capacity to feel accepted, validated and understood is paramount and these are core values I place at the heart of my practice.
One therapeutic model definitely doesn’t fit all when it comes to our psychological wellbeing. I therefore value the flexibility of using an integrative approach - drawing on my person-centred skills and those from my additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
I work with anxiety related issues, bereavement, depression, low self-esteem, OCD, PTSD, relationship and sexual issues, stress, and major life transitions. I see individuals and couples and am an approved therapist for several healthcare insurers.
I hold a BACP Accredited Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Level Five) and a Post Graduate Diploma in CBP, awarded from the University of Salford with distinction.
My therapy career began in community-based mental health organisations within the Greater Manchester area. My additional training in cognitive behavioural therapy, has led to clinical work within both primary and secondary care settings for several NHS trusts.
Working privately gives me the privilege of being able to focus more on the individual needs of my clients and less on those of a large organisation. I work with adults from all walks of life, and understand that people are unique. When I work with you, my aim is to help you get the most from every session.
Both my personal and professional philosophies come from a place of compassion, and believing that every individual has the innate capacity to move beyond adversity and flourish.
The distress you're feeling can be significantly reduced with counselling or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I will help you reduce the obstacles that are preventing you from moving forwards, so that you can live the life you deserve. I will provide you with:
